John Muse enters his second year as an assistant coach at Worcester State. He will primarily be focusing on the jumpers and sprinters for the indoor and outdoor womens track and field team. Over the summer Coach Muse completed and passed his USA Track and Field Level 1 course and the NPVCA Pole Vault course as well.
Last season Coach Muse helped guide the women's track and field team to a second place MASCAC in the indoor and outdoor season, their best spring finish since 2002. Both squads also placed fourth at the New England Alliance meet.
A 2008 graduate of Westfield State College, Coach Muse, who was selected the third ever team-captain of the Owls in his junior year. While at Westfield he helped the Owls win four MASCAC and New England Alliance Championship teams. Coach Muse was a conference champion in the 55 meter, 100 meter and 200 meter dashes and was a three time champion in the 4x100 meter relay.
In 2007, Coach Muse helped set the meet record in the 4x100
relay as the squad clocked a time of 42.30. He also named
an All-New England athlete as later that season he finished sixth
in the 100 meter dash.
